About me

The beauty of choosing a celebrant is the freedom to shape your ceremony to your wants and personalities.

Your ceremony will be written by me and tailored to you and your story.

I was trained by the UK Society of Celebrants (UKSOC).

I’m usually based in London and Kent but I’m happy to discuss travel arrangements.

You may have noticed the flag at the top of the page. I am more than happy to take part in LGBTQI+ ceremonies. Love is love.

When I’m not being a celebrant, I’m work as an actor, poet and presenter. meaning that I'm pretty versatile, used to public speaking and able to offer you something a little different. It also means I'm adaptable, should any last-minute adjustments be required.

In my spare time I write and perform poetry which makes me the perfect choice to add a little poetry to your special day, or if you want a little help writing those vows. And it also means I'm well-equipped to find readings that really suit your style.

I also speak fluent French, and a little bit of Spanish and German, but I’m willing to try my hand at any others. Looking to have your ceremony in Elvish or Klingon? I’d love to give it a go.

How I got started

One of my more unique experiences as a celebrant was at a wedding in Spain. By the pool on a beautiful sunny day in Ibiza, the anticipation was in the air, the guests buzzing. The wedding party was in place, the bride looking stunning and waiting in the wings, but no sign yet of the celebrant...

But then out steps Father Alfonso, a Spanish monk of advanced age – a little eccentric, a little slow to make it up the stairs, but clearly a local character of some personality.

He started the ceremony in Spanish but was quickly informed by the Best Man that this was to be in English. A quick apology and a little adjustment, and then he proceeded with a unique ceremony written as if he had known the couple for many years.

Who was this distinguished older gentleman? Nobody except the wedding party had any idea that Father Alfonso was not what he seemed. Father Alfonso was just me, disguised with a latex mask, monk’s robes and some basic Spanish.

That was their story, and believe me when I say it’s one that’s regularly told among the invitees, even several years later. What will your story be?
